Warranty Policy

Every part sold by MTX Performance is backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty. As an authorized Canadian retailer of all brands in our catalogue, you receive the full manufacturer warranty on every purchase — no grey market parts, no voided coverage, no exceptions.

This page explains what is covered, what is not, how to submit a warranty claim, and what to expect once your claim is received.

What Is Covered

The manufacturer warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. If a part fails due to a manufacturing defect within that period, MTX Performance will facilitate a replacement or refund in accordance with the relevant manufacturer's warranty terms.

Coverage applies to parts purchased directly from MTX Performance. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

Warranty terms for specific brands or product categories may vary. If you have a question about coverage for a particular part before purchasing, contact us at sales@mtxperformance.ca and we will confirm the applicable terms.

What Is Not Covered

The following are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Damage resulting from improper installation, including installation by an unqualified person or failure to follow the manufacturer's installation instructions
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident
  • Normal wear and tear over time
  • Cosmetic damage including scratches, corrosion, or finish deterioration not caused by a manufacturing defect
  • Parts that have been modified, altered, or repaired by anyone other than the manufacturer or an authorized service centre
  • Damage caused by use in racing, competition, or off-road conditions unless the part is specifically rated and sold for that purpose
  • Parts where the serial number, part number, or identifying markings have been removed or altered
  • Labour costs for removal, installation, or reinstallation of a warranted or replacement part
  • Consequential or incidental damages arising from a part failure

MTX Performance is a retailer, not a manufacturer. Warranty decisions on defective parts are made in conjunction with the relevant brand. We facilitate the process on your behalf and aim to resolve all valid claims as quickly as possible.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, follow these steps in order. Claims submitted without the required information may be delayed.

  1. Gather your documentation

You will need your order number or proof of purchase, the part number or product name, a description of the defect or failure, and photographs clearly showing the issue.

  1. Contact MTX Performance

Email your claim to sales@mtxperformance.ca with the subject line: Warranty Claim — [Your Order Number]. Include all documentation listed in Step 1. You may also call us at (905) 538-8474 during business hours, though a written claim via email is required to open and track the case.

  1. Wait for claim assessment

Our team will review your claim and liaise with the manufacturer where required. You will receive a response within 2 to 3 business days confirming whether the claim is approved and what the next steps are.

  1. Return the defective part (if required)

Some warranty claims require the defective part to be returned before a replacement is issued. If return is required, we will provide a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping instructions. Do not return any item without an RA number — unrequested returns cannot be processed.

  1. Receive your resolution

Approved claims are resolved by replacement part, store credit, or refund at the discretion of the manufacturer and MTX Performance. Resolution timelines vary by brand and part availability, but we aim to close all approved claims within 5 to 10 business days.

Warranty Claims vs. Returns

A warranty claim and a return are two separate processes. Returns apply within the first 30 days if you change your mind or receive an incorrect part. Warranty claims apply after purchase when a part fails due to a manufacturing defect.

If your part arrived damaged in transit or is incorrect, this is not a warranty issue — contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will resolve it directly. See our Refund Policy for full returns and refund terms.

Warranty FAQs

Does the warranty transfer if I sell my vehicle or the part?

No. The 1-year manufacturer warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.

Does installation affect my warranty?

Professional or self-installation does not automatically void a warranty. However, damage caused directly by improper installation is not covered. If you are unsure about the installation process, contact us before fitting the part — our team can point you toward the manufacturer's instructions or recommend a qualified installer.

What if my part fails just outside the 1-year window?

Warranty coverage ends at 12 months from the date of purchase. If your part fails outside this window, contact us anyway — we will review the situation and, in some cases, manufacturers will consider goodwill assessments for parts that fail shortly after the warranty period.

Can I claim warranty on a part I bought on sale or clearance?

Yes. Warranty coverage is not affected by purchase price, discount, or promotional pricing. All parts sold by MTX Performance carry the same 1-year manufacturer warranty regardless of how they were priced at checkout.

Who pays return shipping on a warranty claim?

If a return is required as part of the warranty process, MTX Performance will confirm the return shipping arrangement at the time of claim approval. In most cases involving a confirmed manufacturing defect, return shipping is covered.
